I’ve painted most
of my life, recalling almost as much time spent pouring over Outdoor Life and
Field and Stream magazines my family always had around. I loved learning about
the animals, fish and plants that filled the magazine pages, and began to
identify more closely with the outdoors as time went by.

I’ve always felt captivated with the mystery and magic nature continually
reveals. The beautiful colors, the unique sounds, scents, and movement in the
natural world are truly amazing. I have come to realize if we are willing to
take the time, it’s easy to see there is an endless array of thrills and
surprises around every corner. Everything is connected to another, and it goes
on and on. So for me, by my family’s influence and love of nature, has led to
my art

I’ve enjoyed majoring in Fine
Art at Fulton-Montgomery Community College, Johnstown, New York, Empire State
College, Saratoga Springs, New York, and Florida Gulf Coast University, Ft.
Myers, Florida. I continue to combine my formal studies with life experience
in my artistic journey.

I receive inquiries about my name, 'WyndRyder', so I'll begin
there. A lovely Native American of The Cherokee tribe, known as Grace Sacajawea
Birdwoman honored me quite some time ago with it. When she saw the murals I
painted in YWCA sites in Upstate New York, (including a Domestic Violence Center
where she worked), well, she pulled me aside. She spoke to me with tears in her
eyes, telling me the birds of prey that I painted on the walls, (especially the
eagles and hawks) are my totem animals. And, my Cherokee name, if I were to
accept it, would be right there in that moment, 'She Who Rides the Wind', or 'WyndRyder'.
People who know me know how much I love telling this :) But it's true. I'll
never forget that day. Grace being a proud tribal dancer---even to this day,
began moving around me in a dramatic heart-felt dance that made me feel as if an
eagle literally scooped me up and took me off to feel what it's like to look
down upon the Earth. Well, with this, I continue to express that same sense of
spirit from my remarkable encounter with Miss Grace---along with the beauty of
countless birds and animals; the sparkle of the skies and waters, and the
dynamic ebb and flow on Earth. By offering my imagery, I intend to provide my
customers with a feeling that can hardly be expressed in words, and I am
thankfully grateful this is the result. Whether there's a small gift idea of
your own you'd like for that special someone, or a large project for home or
office; whatever your creative needs may be....contact me, and together we'll
come up with something memorable. Many thanks!
